Bookish News: 8 August 2016

Hey there guys! I’m at band camp and this is a scheduled post so keep in mind I won’t be able to reply to any comments you make until Saturday!

This week’s releases

ICYMI Here’s a recap of last week

  • Ashley Herring Blake sold her 3rd YA book

It broke on social media that author Ashley Herring Blake will be publishing her third book titled Girl Made of Stars. The novel was sold to HMH and is set to release in spring of 2018. Blake’s second book How to Make a Wish will be released around the same time of 2017. Her debut novel Suffer Love made quite a splash this year and was even named one of the books to read of the summer by MTV.

  • Wires and Nerve’s cover was revealed by Fierce Reads

Wires and Nerve is a new graphic novel by Marissa Meyer. It follows Iko, and is an extension of The Lunar Chronicles world. It’s set to release on January 31, 2017. You can find a link to an excerpt here.

Synopsis: In her first graphic novel, bestselling author Marissa Meyer extends the world of the Lunar Chronicles with a brand-new, action-packed story about Iko, the android with a heart of (mechanized) gold. When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers’ leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. With appearances by Cinder and the rest of the Rampion crew, this is a must-have for fans of the bestselling series.

  • Rumors that Percy Jackson has been optioned for TV

Rumors have sprung up that Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series will become a tv series. It is said the the actor playing Percy will have to pass for at least 14 years old, and Riordan will have a hand in writing the script. The show would allegedly air on CW. I would love to have a Percy Jackson tv show! It would be a dream come true because Percy is my bae. 😉

  • Laini Taylor explains Strange the Dreamer’s release date change

Strange the Dreamer, Laini Taylor’s latest work in progress was set to release this fall. Many fans of her Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy have been anxiously awaiting its release this fall but it was pushed back to March 28, 2017.
