  • SimonTeen is releasing a Buffy The Vampire Slayer book

This book will be released by SimonTeen October 3rd. It’s a watcher’s guide in celebration of the show’s 20 years. Here is the official description:

A special hardcover collector’s edition of the authorized Buffy the Vampire Slayer Watcher’s Guides, now with updated content from the cast and crew!

As long as there have been vampires, there has been the Slayer. One girl in all the world to find them where they gather and to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers.

From the first vampire staking to the last glimpse of Sunnydale, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a genre-busting hit, attracting millions of fans worldwide. Even now, two decades later, Buffy the Vampire Slayer still plays a role in shaping an entire generation of media.

Just in time for the show’s twentieth anniversary, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Watcher’s Guides have been compiled into one hardcover collector’s edition for the first time! Inside, you’ll find all the best content from Volumes 1–3 of the original Watcher’s Guides, as well as exclusive new content, including never-before-seen interviews with the cast and crew.

  • Warcross cover reveal
This past Friday, the cover for Marie Lu’s new novel Warcross was revealed. Bloggers and bookstagrammers helped Lu and PenguinTeen with this. It’s set to come out this October on the 3rd. The book takes a starling turn from the original series that Lu has written. Here is the official description:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu—when a game called Warcross takes the world by storm, one girl hacks her way into its dangerous depths.

For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and others hoping to make a profit. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. But the bounty hunting world is a competitive one, and survival has not been easy. Needing to make some quick cash, Emika takes a risk and hacks into the opening game of the international Warcross Championships—only to accidentally glitch herself into the action and become an overnight sensation.

Convinced she’s going to be arrested, Emika is shocked when instead she gets a call from the game’s creator, the elusive young billionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an irresistible offer. He needs a spy on the inside of this year’s tournament in order to uncover a security problem . . . and he wants Emika for the job. With no time to lose, Emika’s whisked off to Tokyo and thrust into a world of fame and fortune that she’s only dreamed of. But soon her investigation uncovers a sinister plot, with major consequences for the entire Warcross empire.

In this sci-fi thriller, #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu conjures an immersive, exhilarating world where choosing who to trust may be the biggest gamble of all. (Goodreads)

Entertainment Weekly also revealed the cover along with an excerpt of the book.
What do you think? Looks great doesn’t it?! I haven’t read any of Lu’s books aside from Legend but I’m sure I’ll get around to reading them at some point (hopefully anyway).
Happy reading!
Sophie 🙂
